The Rule and Status of Women in the Indigenous Igala Religion https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id./index.php/IGSJ/article/view/78198 <p>Taking the historical development of womanhood among the Igala people into account, this paper examines the rule and status of indigenous Igala women within the context of traditional religious practices in Nigeria. The Igala ethnic group, situated in the central part of Nigeria, has a rich cultural heritage deeply intertwined with traditional religious beliefs and rituals. Central to this culture is the intricate role and status that Igala women hold within their traditional religious practices. Adopting an analytical method, this paper delves into the historical background of Igala society, highlighting the pivotal roles women have played in maintaining cultural norms and spiritual traditions. It explores the multifaceted contributions of Igala women in various aspects of religious ceremonies, including the preservation of sacred knowledge, participation in rituals, and leadership roles within religious gatherings. Through a combination of ethnographic research, historical analysis, and interviews with community members, the study elucidates how indigenous Igala women have been both custodians and practitioners of traditional religious knowledge. The study considers parental factors, school environment, and gender as determinants. This study employed a multi-stage sampling technique. Two hundred and eighty-five secondary school students made the study's sample. Data was collected using reliable instruments: (Parental Factors scale α = 0.76; School Environment Inventory α = 0.78; and Westside Test Anxiety Scale α = 0.84). From the results, the examination anxiety among students was influenced by gender: females (Mean = 40.5205) and males (Mean = 42.4748). There is a strong correlation between parental factors (r = .688; p.&lt;05), school environment (r = .166; p.&lt;05), gender (r = .081; p.&lt;05) and examination anxiety of students. The most significant contribution to the prediction in terms of magnitude was made by parental factors (β = .680; t = 15.976; p&lt;0.05), followed by School environment (β = .113; t = 2.660; p&lt;0.05) and gender (β = .085; t = 2.013; p&lt;0.05). The study underscores the need for both the home and the school to cooperate to keep the learners focused on their education. Namun, dalam implementasinya, kurikulum ini dihadapi berbagai tantangan yang memerlukan perhatian serius dari semua pemangku kepentingan. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa meskipun ada pandangan positif dari pendidik terkait dengan potensi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam meningkatkan kreativitas dan inovasi dalam pembelajaran, kesiapan guru dalam mengadopsi pendekatan baru menjadi kendala utama yang perlu diatasi. Di sisi lain, pandangan siswa dan orang tua juga berperan penting dalam keberhasilan implementasi kurikulum ini. Kendala teknis dan infrastruktur menjadi hambatan serius, terutama di daerah pedesaan, menghambat pencapaian tujuan kurikulum secara menyeluruh. Solusi implementatif yang diperlukan meliputi peningkatan investasi dalam infrastruktur pendidikan, pelatihan guru, serta kerja sama erat antara sekolah, pemerintah, dan masyarakat. In the past, gender inequality became a culture in society, giving birth to patriarchy. With this movement, many women feel the positive influence of feminism in their lives. In the past, women still had to show their existence to achieve an equal position with men in public service. Unlike today, where women can achieve different positions in various fields thanks to feminism, women today only need to increase their self-esteem. However, sometimes there are thoughts in society that have a negative impact on feminism, especially for those who do not understand the concept of feminism. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The analysis uses an interactive approach which includes data reduction, data presentation and inference validation. The research method used is descriptive statistical methods. The research subjects involved 24 teachers, of whom 12 male teachers and 12 female teachers, from six (6) elementary school groups 1 and 2 in Badung Regency. Data was collected using the "Mindset Questionnaire" instrument by Dweck, with a Likert scale to identify teachers' mindsets based on gender. Data analysis was carried out using a quantitative descriptive approach, using descriptive statistical methods. The research results show that both female and male teachers in driving schools tend to adopt a growth mindset. However, there are differences in the intensity of growth mindset between the two genders. Female teachers show a slightly higher level of growth mindset intensity compared to male teachers. These findings provide in-depth insight into the growth mindset profile of Badung Regency driving school teachers when viewed from gender, which can be the basis for developing self-development strategies and more focused training.</em></p> Ni Kade Indu Dewi Kumala Sari Putu Nanci Riastini I Gede Margunayasa Copyright (c) 2024 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-07-31 2024-07-31 4 2 Parental Socioeconomic Status, Locus of Control, Social-Media and Peer Pressure as Determinants of Risky-Sexual Behaviour Among Undergraduates https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id./index.php/IGSJ/article/view/81464 <p>This study examined parental socioeconomic status, locus of control, social media, and peer influence as determinants of risky-sexual behavior. The study employed the descriptive survey research design. Two hundred and forty (240) male and female undergraduates were the participants in the study. Data was collected using reliable instruments: (Risky Sexual Behaviuor Scale α = 0.84; Parental Socioeconomic Status Scale α = 0.79; Locus of Control Scale α = 0.87; Social-Media Scale α = 0.82; and Peer Influence Scale α = 0.91). From the results, there is a strong correlation between parental socioeconomic status (r = .396; p&lt;0.05), locus of control (r = .482; p&lt;.05), social-media (r = .558; p&lt;.05), peer influence (r = .523; p&lt;.05) and risky-sexual behaviour among undergraduate students. The most significant contribution was made by peer influence (β = .596; t= 3.852; p&lt;0.05); followed by social-media (β = .501; t= 11.035; p&lt;0.05); locus of control (β = .107; t= .822; p&lt;0.05); and parental socio-economic status (β =.041; t= .526; p&lt;0.05).
