Students, teachers, and institutions must be able to survive in conditions where distance learning is implemented. Blended Learning (BL) is one of the methods applied internationally during the pandemic. This study aims to investigate the advantages, challenges, and effectiveness of BL. The research method is a systematic literature review (SLR) with a qualitative descriptive research type. This research is a systematic literature review. Researchers explore various literature from various journals accredited by Scopus to Sinta. This study reveals various findings regarding its advantages, challenges, and effectiveness. The main results of this study are to show that this model offers high flexibility and effectiveness in the learning process. This study found that blended learning not only increases the accessibility of education but also encourages higher student engagement through the use of technology and interactive media. In addition, this model allows for personalization of learning, where students can learn according to their own pace and learning style. It also provides opportunities for teachers to develop more innovative and responsive learning strategies to change. This research implies that these findings encourage the development of a more flexible and adaptive curriculum that can optimally combine online and face-to-face learning.
Tasya Prawisanthi Ni Made Ratminingsih Copyright (c) 2024 Tasya Prawisanthi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-25 2023-11-25 7 4 186 197 10.23887/ijll.v7i4.77245 Differentiated English Learning Assessment Viewed from Student Learning Styles https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id./index.php/IJLL/article/view/82309
The problem with this research is that teachers do not understand the concept of differentiated learning and assessment tailored to student's learning styles and have not appropriately identified variations in students' learning styles. This hinders the implementation of diverse learning strategies that suit students' needs. This study aims to evaluate and determine the needs of teachers and students in developing learning style-based differentiation assessment instruments. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a case study design. The research subjects were three teachers and 17 students as pilot test subjects. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with teachers and distributing questionnaires to students. The instruments used were interview guides and learning-style questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using qualitative thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that teachers did not understand the concept of differentiated assessment and had not identified students' learning styles effectively. Based on the questionnaire, grade 6 students show significant variations in learning styles. In conclusion, differentiated assessment is urgent to meet the diversity of student learning styles. This research implies the need for teacher training in designing and implementing differentiated assessments based on student's learning styles to support more effective learning.
I Gede Ardika Jaya Putra Ni Wayan Surya Mahayanti G A P Suprianti Copyright (c) 2024 I Gede Ardika Jaya Putra https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-25 2023-11-25 7 4 198 207 10.23887/ijll.v7i4.82309 Wordwall Media to Enrich English Vocabulary of 4th Grade Students https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id./index.php/IJLL/article/view/81883
Kadek Pebi Kusuma Ningsih G. This study aims to discover the cultural categories and how they are represented in the cultural dimensions in the “Bright an English” textbook for grade VII of junior high school. This research uses a qualitative content analysis approach. The data were collected through document analysis and analyzed using and recording data, systematic coding, category creation, and interpretation. This study resulted in two main findings. First, cultural categories were found in full in the textbooks but in unbalanced proportions. This shows the dominance of local culture and the lack of representation of international culture. Second, the representation of cultural categories in the cultural dimension also varies. Representations in the textbooks appear through textual data (words, sentences, dialogues, readings) and image data. Five cultural dimensions (products, practices, perspectives, communities, and individuals) are fully represented in the target culture and international culture through textual data. Meanwhile, in the textual data, the local culture does not show the dimension of perspective. Representation in the form of image data is fully present in the local culture. In the image data, the target culture does not show the dimensions of perspective and community, and the international culture does not show the dimensions of practice and perspective. In conclusion, there are potential imbalances in the representation of global culture that can be addressed to increase the cultural diversity presented to students.
Ni Made Meyra Reditya Devi Dewa Putu Ramendra I Nyoman Pasek Hadi Saputra Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Made Meyra Reditya Devi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-25 2023-11-25 7 4 216 232 10.23887/ijll.v7i4.82352 Wordwall-Based Digital Media to Stimulate Students in Learning English Vocabulary https://ejournal.undiksha.ac.id./index.php/IJLL/article/view/81884
In the current digital era, conventional learning media are often considered less attractive for students, especially amidst the dominance of technology in everyday life. The use of digital media such as Wordwall, an interactive learning platform that offers various educational games, is believed to increase students' interest and motivation in learning. Based on previous findings, this research focuses on creating Wordwall media to teach English vocabulary to 5th grade elementary school students. Students have never used learning media designed for vocabulary learning. This research uses the Design and Development (DnD) research paradigm to construct learning media in the form of Wordwalls. The DnD research model consists of three main stages: design, development, and assessment. Researcher notes, validation sheets, expert assessments, and user questionnaires are the instruments used in this research. The subjects of this research were 5th grade elementary school students. The main results of this research show significant results, this shows that the media developed is very good and suitable for use. This research aims to identify how using Wordwall can help students master new vocabulary, strengthen their memory, and increase their involvement in the learning process. The implications of this research indicate that the use of Wordwall-based digital media has significant potential to stimulate students' interest and motivation in learning English vocabulary. By integrating Wordwall in learning activities, teachers can create a more interactive and interesting learning environment, thereby increasing student engagement and speeding up the process of understanding new vocabulary.
Komang Santi Widi Rahayu I G A Lokita Purnamika Utami Copyright (c) 2024 Komang Santi Widi Rahayu https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-25 2023-11-25 7 4 233 240 10.23887/ijll.v7i4.81884
