Kepercayaan pada Hoaks Penanganan COVID-19: Peran Dangerous Worldview dan Keyakinan Konspirasi

Abstract

Tersebarnya hoaks mengenai peran pemerintah dalam penanganan COVID-19 menyumbang kegelisahan di lubuk hati masyarakat. Fenomena ini memancing beragam persepsi mulai dari positif hingga negatif. Persepsi negatif menenggelamkan motivasi masyarakat untuk bertahan di era pandemi, sehingga memantik masyarakat untuk mempercayai konspirasi dan menganggap dunia adalah tempat yang mengancam (dangerous worldview). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan peran dangerous worldview dan keyakinan konspirasi sebagai anteseden kepercayaan pada hoaks mengenai pemerintah akan penanganan COVID-19. Dengan menggunakan rancangan survei cross sectional dan sampel penelitian (N = 441) yang dipilih secara accidental sampling. Dangerous worldview, keyakinan konspirasi dan kepercayaan hoaks diukur menggunakan kuesioner, sedangkan hipotesis penelitian dianalisis menggunakan regresi berganda. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dangerous worldview dan keyakinan konspirasi berperan signifikan dalam menjelaskan kepercayaan hoaks mengenai pemerintah (R= 0,746; R2= 0,556; F= 274,536; p<0,001 ) dengan kontribusi relatif dangerous worldview dan keyakinan konspirasi masing-masing sebesar 35% dan 77%. Hasil dan implikasi penelitian dibahas secara rinci. Implikasi teoritis dari penelitian ini adalah dangerous worldview dan keyakinan konspirasi berperan sebagai anteseden atau collective symbolic coping terhadap kepercayaan hoaks mengenai pemerintah.
