MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MENULIS KARANGAN ARGUMENTASI DENGAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING DI KELAS X AP1 SMK PGRI 2 GIANYAR

Rancangan penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan argumentasi dengan metode discovery learning, (2) mengetahui hasil belajar menulis karangan argumentasi dengan metode discovery learning dan (3) mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menulis karangan argumentasi dengan metode discovery learning di kelas X AP1 SMK PGRI 2 Gianyar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus dengan menggunakan empat tahap dari penelitian tindakan kelas, yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui metode observasi, tes dan angket. Metode observasi digunakan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan argumentasi yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode tes digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar menulis karangan argumentasi yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Angket digunakan untuk mengetahui respon siswa setelah menggunakn metode discovery learning dalam menulis karangan argumentasi siswa kelas X AP1 SMK PGRI 2 Gianyar yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis karangan argumentasi sudah berjalan dengan baik. Nilai rata-rata pratindakan adalah 60,78, kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I menjadi 72,57 dan mengalami peningkatan kembali pada siklus II menjadi 82,35. Perolehan nilai rata-rata respon siswa pada siklus I sebesar 39,10 dalam kategori positif dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 43,07 dalam kategori positif. Dalam pembelajaran menulis guru hendaknya kreatif dalam memilih metode pembelajaran, agar metode yang digunakan sesuai dengan materi pelajaran.Kata Kunci : Menulis argumentasi, model discovery learning, siswa SMK.
This research design was classroom action research. The purposes of the study were (1) to know the learning implementation of writing argumentative text with discovery learning method, (2) to know the learning outcome of writing argumentative text with discovery learning method and (3) to know the students’ responses toward the learning of writing argumentative text with discovery learning method at class X AP1 SMK PGRI 2 Gianyar. This study was conducted with two cycles using four steps of classroom action research, namely (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting. These research data were collected by using observation, test, and questionnaire method. The observation method was used to know the learning implementation of writing argumentative text which was analyzed through descriptive quantitative. The test method was used to know the improvement of learning outcome of writing argumentative text which was analyzed through descriptive quantitative. The questionnaire was used to know the students’ responses after using discovery learning method in writing argumentative text of students class X AP1 SMK PGRI 2 Gianyar which were analyzed through descriptive quantitative. The learning implementation of writing argumentative text had conducted well. The average score of pre-action is 60.78, then it encountered improvement in the cycle I became 72.57, and it encountered improvement in cycle II became 82.35. The average score result of students’ responses in cycle I is 39.10 in positive category and encountered improvement in the cycle II become 43.07 in the positive category. In learning writing, the teacher should be creative in choosing the learning method so that the method which is used appropriate with the learning material.
