PILIHAN BAHASA PADA UPACARA PERKAWINAN ADAT DI DESA NENU, KECAMATAN CIBAL, KABUPATEN MANGGARAI

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan (1) pilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh ketua adat pada perkawinan adat di Desa Nenu, Kecamatan Cibal, Kabupaten Manggarai, (2) dasar pemilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh ketua adat pada perkawinan adat di Desa Nenu, Kecamatan Cibal, Kabupaten Manggarai, dan (3) makna bahasa yang terkandung pada perkawinan adat di Desa Nenu, Kecamatan Cibal, Kabupaten Manggarai. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah ketua adat, dan objek penelitiannya adalah pilihan bahasa yang digunakan pada upacara perkawinan adat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi dan metode wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan (1) pilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh ketua adat pada upacara perkawinan adat adalah bahasa Manggarai, (2) dasar pilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh ketua adat bersifat tradisi atau pemertahanan tradisi dan berkaitan dengan adiluhur bahasa Manggarai, dan (3) pilihan bahasa yang digunakan pada upacara perkawinan adat mengandung makna yang dalam mengenai makna hidup dan kehidupan dalam keluarga.

This study aimed describe (1) the laguage choice which used by the leader at traditional marriage in Nenu Village, Cibal district , Manggarai Regency, (2) the basic language selection used by the leader at traditional marriage in Nenu Village, district Cibal, Manggarai regency, and (3) the language meaning contained at traditional marriage, Cibal district, Manggarai district.This research used qualitative descriptive design. The subject of this research is the adat chairman, and the object of his research is the choice of language used in the customary marriage ceremony. This research uses observation method and interview method. The results of this study indicate that (1) the choice of language used by the adat leader in the adat marriage ceremony is the Manggarai language, (2) the basic choice of language used by the adat chairman is tradition or traditional defense and related to the Manggarai language, and (3) the choice the language used in traditional adat ceremonies contains deep meaning about the meaning of life and life in the family.
