THE EFFECT OF INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA ASSISTED PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL TOWARDS THE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF SMA STUDENTS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan Multimedia Interaktif (MPBL-MI), Model Problem Based Learning (MPBL), dan Model Pembelajaran Langsung (MPDI). Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Tabanan semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang terdiri dari 8 kelas IPA dengan jumlah total 318 orang siswa. Pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan simple group random sampling. Sehingga diperoleh tiga kelas dengan jumlah total sampel adalah 120 orang siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemberian pretest dan posttest berupa tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, yang terdiri dari 10 soal essay. Data dianalisis dengan tekhnik analisis deskriptif dan analisis varians (ANAVA) satu jalur dengan uji lanjut Least Significant Difference (LSD) dengan taraf signifikansi untuk seluruh pengujian adalah 0,05. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis antara kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPBL-MI, kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPBL, dan kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPDI (F = 17,788; p<0,05). Hasil LSD menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan rata-rata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis yang paling signifikan terdapat pada penggunaan MPBL-MI dengan MPBL, dimana Δµ = 0,140, standar deviasi 0,022, dan angka signifikansi 0,001. Perbedaan rata-rata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan signifikansi terkecil terletak pada penggunaan MPDI, dimana Δµ yang diperoleh 0,052, standar deviasi 0,025 dan angka signifikansi 0,040. Kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPBL-MI memperoleh peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPBL dan kelompok siswa yang belajar dengan MPDI.Kata Kunci : model problem based learning berbantuan multimedia interaktif, model problem based learning, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis.
This study aimed at analyzing the difference of critical thinking skill among the students who was taught by using Interactive Multimedia Assisted Problem Based Learning Model (PBLM-IM), Problem Based Learning Model (PBLM), and Direct Learning Model (DIM). This study was Quasi Experimental Research with using pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design as research design. The population was the tenth grade students of SMAN 2 Tabanan. The population of this study was 318 students. This study used simple group random sampling for getting the samples. The total samples were 120 students in three classes. Data were analyzed descriptively and used one way variance analysis (ANAVA). For further analysis, Least Significant Difference (LSD) was used with significant value 0.05. The result of study shows that there is a significant difference in Critical Thinking Skill of the students who are taught by using Interactive Multimedia Assisted Problem Based Learning Model (PBLM-IM), the students who are taught by using Problem Based Learning Model (PBLM), and the students who are taught by using Direct Learning Model (DIM) (F = 17.788; p<0.05). The result of LSD shows that the difference on the main scores of Critical Thinking Skill are found in the use of PBLM-IM and PBLM with Δµ = 0.140, standard deviation = 0.022, and the significant value p = 0.001. The difference of the mean score on the students’ Critical Thinking Skill with smallest significance is found in the use of DIM, where Δµ = 0.052, standard deviation is 0.025, and the significant value p = 0.040. Group of students who were taught by using PBLM-IM get higher improvement in Critical Thinking compared with group of students who are taught by using PBLM and DIM.
