IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE GI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL DAN HASIL BELAJAR IPA SISWA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa, (2) meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional siswa, (3) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dan (4) mendeskripsikan tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) dalam pelajaran IPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 4 Mendoyo tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Data aktivitas siswa dikumpulkan dengan observasi selama kegiatan pembelajaran. Data kecerdasan emosional dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner pada setiap akhir siklus. Data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan pemberian tes hasil belajar IPA berupa soal pilihan ganda. Sementara data tanggapan siswa dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner. Data penelitian yang diperoleh, dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terjadi peningkatan aktivitas siswa pada siklus II. (2) Terjadi peningkatan skor rata-rata kecerdasan emosional siswa dari siklus I (180,50) ke siklus II (183,94) dengan kategori baik. (3) Terjadi peningkatan skor rata-rata hasil belajar IPA siswa dari siklus I (75,74) ke siklus II (76,91) dengan kategori baik. (4) Tanggapan siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) dalam pelajaran IPA adalah positif dengan skor rata-rata 61,62. Peningkatan kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar IPA siswa dibuktikan dengan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t satu sampel. Hasil uji t satu sampel menunjukkan bahwa t hitung > t tabel sehingga H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 4 Mendoyo tahun pelajaran 2014/2015.Kata Kunci : Investigasi grup, kecerdasan emosional, hasil belajar IPA
This study aimed at (1) describing the student’s activity, (2) improving the student’s emotional intellegent, (3) improving the student’s achievement, and (4) describing the student’s respond towards the implementation of Cooperative Learning on Group Investigation (GI) in science class. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subject of this study were 8th grade students of class E at SMP Negeri 4 Mendoyo in academic years 2014/2015. The total number of subject in this study were 34 students. Data of student’s activities were collected by observing the learning activities, data of student’s emotional intellegent were collected by using questioner in every last cycle, and data of student’s learning result were collected by giving objective test. Meanwhile, the student’s respond was collected by using questioner. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this study shows that (1) there is an improvement of the student’s activity at second cycle. (2) there is an improvement in average score of the student’s emotional intellegent from cycleI I (180,50) and cycle II (183,94) with category “good”. (3) there is an improvement in average score of science learning result from 75,74 in cycle I to 76,91 in cycle II with category “good”. (4) The students’s respond towards the implementation of Cooperative Learning on Group Investigation (GI) in science class is positive with the score 61.62. The improvement of student’s emotional intellegent and science learning result are proved by hypothesis using one sample t-test. The test shows that t calculation > t table, so that H0 is rejected. The result of this study shows that the implementation of Cooperative Learning on Group Investigation (GI) is able to improve the student’s emotional intellegent and able to improve student’s achievement on science class in 8th grade students of class E at SMP Negeri 4 Mendoyo in academic years 2014/2015.
