PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED- LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH FISIKA SISWA SMA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika siswa, 2) mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran fisika, dan 3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan siswa terhadap implementasi model pembelajaran problem based learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 SMA Saraswati Seririt yang berjumlah 36 orang. Objek penelitian meliputi model problem based learning, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, aktivitas, dan tanggapan siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil tes akhir siklus dan angket. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan 1) penerapan model problem based learning mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika. Hal ini terlihat dari perbandingan nilai rata-rata dan ketuntasan kalsikal siklus I dengan siklus II. Pada siklus I rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 74,39 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 58,33%, sedangkan pada siklus II rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 81,31 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 80,05%, 2) aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan karena siswa diberikan kesempatan untuk berpendapat melalui kegiatan diskusi dan presentasi, dan 3) siswa memberikan tanggapan yang sangat positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.Kata Kunci : model pembelajaran problem based learning, kemampuan pemecahan masalah.
ABSTRACT This study aimed at 1) improving the students’ problem solving ability, 2) describing the students’ activity, and 3) describing the students’ responds toward the implementation of problem based learning. This study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subject of this study was the tenth grade students of class X1 at SMA Saraswati Seririt in academic years 2014/2015. The total number of the students in this study was 36 students. The object of this study were problem based learning, problem solving ability, student’s activity, and student’s respond. Data of the study were collected from the result test in the cycle 1 and the cycle 2, and from the questioner. Data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this study shows that, 1) the implementation of problem based learning is able to improve students problem solving physics ability. It can be seen from the average score ratio between at the cycle 1 and at the cycle 2. The average score at the first cycle is 74.39 with classical completeness 58,33%, meanwhile the average score at the second cycle is 81.31 with classical completeness 80.05%, 2) The students’ activities in learning activities has increased because students are given the opportunity to argue through discussions and presentations, and 3) the students’ responds toward the implementation of problem based learning in physics class is positive. Based on the research finding, it can be concluded that the implementation of problem based learning is able to improve students problem solving ability.
