Dampak Revolusi Industri 4.0 pada Industri Teknologi Komunikasi di Indonesia: Peluang dan Tantangan

Selama dekade ini dunia tengah memasuki fase keempat dari revolusi industri atau disebut juga Industri 4.0. Salah satu industri yang terkena dampak dari revolusi industri ini adalah industri dan teknologi komunikasi. Dalam tulisan ini dilakukan analisis terhadap dampak yang ditimbulkan dari revolusi industri 4.0 terhadap industri teknologi komunikasi beserta peluang dan tantangan yang ditimbulkannya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat studi pustaka (library research).Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana revolusi industri 4.0 memengaruhi industri dan teknologi komunikasi, maka metode kualitatif dipertimbangkan cocok untuk penelitian ini. Dari hasil penelitian ini diidentifikasi empat dampak dari Industri 4.0 terhadap industri dan teknologi komunikasi yaitu cyber physical system (CPS), telekomunikasi 4.0, sifat disruptif dari revolusi industri, dan konvergensi media. Dari dampak-dampak tersebut, didapati bahwa Industri 4.0 memunculkan berbagai peluang dan tantangan bagi industri dan teknologi komunikasi di Indonesia. Peluang dan tantangan tersebut terutama terkait dengan kesiapan industri dan sumber daya untuk mengadopsi teknologi hasil revolusi industri serta regulasi yang diterbitkan atau dipersiapkan pemerintah untuk menghadapi era Industri 4.0 tersebut.
