KEGIATAN MENULIS PADA EKSTRAKURIKULER JURNALISTIK DI SMA NEGERI 1 MENGWI

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, dan (3) hambatan yang dihadapi siswa dalam kegiatan menulis pada ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik di SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IBB dan pembina ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik di SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi. Objek penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan kegiatan menulis pada ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan metode wawancara, metode observasi, metode kuisioner dan dokumentasi dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) perencanaan kegiatan menulis pada ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik disusun dalam bentuk program kerja. Komponen yang terdapat dalam program kerja tersebut meliputi tujuan, sasaran, uraian kegiatan, nilai karakter, dan indikator karakter. Dalam uraian kegiatan, ada dua kegiatan yaitu kegiatan semester ganjil dan semester genap, (2) pelaksanaan kegiatan menulis pada ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik yaitu pembina menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, dan praktek. Hasil kegiatan menulis yaitu siswa mampu menghasilkan tulisan-tulisan jurnalistik. Tulisan tersebut di koreksi pada akhir pelatihan kegiatan menulis, dan (3) hambatan yang dihadapi siswa dalam kegaiatan menulis meliputi hambatan umum dan khusus. Selain hambatan yang dihadapi siswa, pembina juga mengalami hambatan ketika menulis yaitu keterbatasan pengetahuan terkait kegiatan jurnalistik sehingga metode yang digunakan tidak sesuai. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan menulis sudah sesuai dengan perencanaan yang telah disusun, serta hasil tulisan siswa dapat dikategorikan baik. Saran dalam penelitian ini, (1) bagi sekolah untuk mencari praktisi yang mampu membina ekstrakurikuler jurnalistik, (2) bagi lembaga pers agar memerhatikan kegiatan jurnalistik yang ada di sekolah.Kata Kunci : jurnalistik, kegiatan, menulis
This study aims to investigate (1) the planning, (2) implementation, and (3) obstacles faced by the students in doing writing activities during the jurnalism extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi. This study applied descriptive qualitative research design. The subject of this study was the eleventh grade students of IBB and the jurnalism extracurricular coach at SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi. The object of this study was the writing activity’s implementation of jurnalism extracurricular. The data was collected through interview, observation, questionnaire, and documentation which were analyzed using descriptive qualitative technique. The result of the study shows that (1) the writing activity in jurnalism extracurricular was planned in form of a work program. The component in it includes purpose, objectives, activity details, character value, and character indicator. In activity details, there are two activities such as first semester and second semester activities. (2) The implementation of writing activity in jurnalism extracurricular used lecturing, question and answer, discussion, and practice methods. At the end of the activity, the students can produce jurnalistic writings. Those writings were corrected at the end of the writing training, and (3) the obstacles faced by the students during the writing activity includes general and specific obstacles. Besides the obstacles faced by the students, the coach also experienced the obstacles during writing activity such as lacking of knowledge related to jurnalism activity, thus the method used was not appropriate. The researcher concluded that the implementation of writing activity was in line with the planning, and the students’ writings can be categorized as good writings. The suggestions of this study were (1) for the school to look for competent coach to develop the jurnalism extracurricular, (2) for press intitutions to pay attention to jurnalism activities in school.
