Abstract

Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) terintegrasi di dalam semua aspek pendidikan. Kurikulum di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum 2013 mengharuskan guru untuk menerapkan TIK di dalam kelas. Penggunaan TIK di dalam kelas sangatlah penting untuk memberikan siswa kesempatan belajar dan menerapkan keterampilan yang dibuperlukan untuk abad 21. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesiapan guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa untuk menerapkan instruksi berbasis TIK pada SMP negeri di Kecamatan Buleleng dan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis prasarana pendukung yang digunakan guru bahasa Inggris pada SMP negeri di kecamatan Buleleng. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara, hasil kuesioner dan wawancara dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa siap untuk menerapkan instruksi berbasis TIK dan 2) Laptop, LCD dan speaker adalah jenis-jenis prasarana pendukung yang paling sering digunakan oleh guru Bahasa Inggris

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is integrated in all aspects of education. In Indonesia, the curriculum which is known as curriculum 2013 requires teacher to implement ICT in the classroom. The use of ICT in the classroom is important for giving students opportunities to learn and apply the required 21st century skills. Therefore, this study aimed at identifying the English teachers’ and students’ readiness to implement ICT based instruction in public junior high schools of Buleleng sub district and to describe kinds of infrastructures that use as supporting tools by the English teachers in public Junior high schools of Buleleng sub district. This study was a descriptive qualitative study. This study was done by using a descriptive qualitative method. The data of the research was collected by using questionnaire and interview, the result of questionnaire and interview were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The study showed that (1) the English teachers and students were ready to implement ICT based instruction and 2) Laptop, LCD and speaker were kinds of infrastructures that mostly use as supporting tools by the English teachers
